Designation and Experience:
I completed my undergraduate degree at the University of Victoria, earning a Bachelor of Science with a major in Psychology. After graduating in 2024, I worked at an online therapy company where I helped clients find therapists who suited their individual needs and preferences. In this role, I also assisted with intake and consent forms, as well as various administrative tasks. After leaving that position, I had the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to volunteer in Kumasi for one month. During my time there, I supported psychiatric nurses and doctors with client intakes, history taking, and treatment planning, while also gaining valuable insight into Ghanaian culture and the evolution of psychology and mental health care within the country. I have now found myself in the incredible role of Administrative and Psychological Assistant at Eckert Psychology & Education Centre, where I also serve as one of the ExoMind technicians. I am passionate about supporting clients and contributing to a welcoming, compassionate, and professional environment.
What inspires you?
Seeing people dedicate themselves to helping others truly inspires me to become the best version of myself. Whether it is a small act of kindness or a lifelong commitment to supporting others, I admire individuals who lead with compassion, empathy, and authenticity. I am especially inspired by people who continue to make a positive impact despite challenges or adversity. Their resilience and dedication remind me of the importance of creating meaningful connections and helping others feel supported and understood. These experiences motivate me to continue growing both personally and professionally within the field of psychology and mental health care.
What are your proudest accomplishments?
I am most proud of my educational accomplishments and the dedication it took to achieve them. I graduated from high school a year early at the age of 16 and immediately began my university studies. After five years of hard work and commitment, I graduated from the University of Victoria with a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Psychology. During my studies, I became a lifelong member of Psi Chi, the International Honour Society in Psychology, which was a meaningful recognition of my academic achievements and passion for the field. Now, at 23 years old, I am incredibly proud to have been accepted into a Master of Counselling program, which I will begin in January next year. I am excited to continue building my knowledge and skills so I can further support individuals in their mental health journeys.
What are your Hobbies and Interests?
I am passionate about maintaining a healthy and balanced lifestyle, so I enjoy going to the gym and meal prepping during my time off to stay consistent with my goals. I also love staying active through hobbies such as rock climbing, aerial arts, tennis, and running. Outside of fitness, I enjoy spending quality time with friends and exploring Calgary’s amazing restaurant scene. I value experiences that allow me to connect with others, try new things, and maintain a positive work-life balance.
Why do you think people should choose Eckert Centre?
At Eckert Psychology & Education Centre, clients are welcomed by a compassionate and supportive team that genuinely cares about their well-being. We understand how stressful and intimidating it can feel to choose a clinician or attend a first appointment, which is why we strive to create an environment where every individual feels comfortable, respected, and supported. The clinicians at Eckert Centre take a comprehensive and personalized approach to care. Rather than focusing solely on symptoms, they work to understand the whole person and the unique experiences that may be impacting their well-being. Our goal is to help clients feel heard, understood, and empowered throughout their journey.
