Raising A Responsible Child
Raising a Responsible Child provides essential knowledge for parents of children ages 4 to 13 years of age who want to arm their children against the perils of a fixed mindset. Research has demonstrated that the way children think about mistakes, risks, and difficult learning tasks greatly impacts their ultimate success as a learner.
More precisely, students who believe their intelligence can be developed (a growth mindset) outperform those who believe their intelligence can’t change (a fixed mindset). Ultimately, parents will learn why having children focus on the process that leads to learning (like hard work or trying new strategies) can foster a growth mindset. Next, they will learn the best kind of praise to offer their children to move them towards a growth mindset. Finally, parents will receive key strategies they can employ at home to build a growth mindset which in turn leads to children taking greater responsibility for their own learning.
