Hello! My name is Madison Stevenson, a first year Psychology student at the University of British Columbia. My upcoming blog series is an opportunity to share with you how I am learning to cope with my own stress and anxiety at school and beyond. To do this, I will be reviewing and citing the book “90 seconds to a Life You Love” by Dr. Joan I. Rosenberg. I am super thrilled to have this opportunity and I hope what I learn from this book and my subsequent writings will help any individual that comes across it, whether you are a college student, an adult raising a family and working, or a grandparent in retirement. Your mental health is so important, and everyone deserves to live a life that they love, cherish, and look forward to each day.

My plan is to read a bit of Dr. Rosenberg’s book each day and compile my thoughts, break it down for everyone, and then add my own life experiences and young wisdom to my posts. We will start with chapter one: “Living a Life by Design.” As I was reading this, I stopped after the third page because I already had so much to say! First off, this book’s whole purpose is to help you live a life you love, one that you design. Being so young, I have a lot of life left to live and my dreams often feel larger than I could ever attain, but part of me knows they're still possible. For those who already have their lives planned out or are settled down, this book most definitely is still for you, and I wanted to make that very clear. No matter what stage of life you are in, YOU have control over your life and YOU have the ability to create and design what best fulfills you and those you are closest with. Creating a life you love is not about living in Mexico or California.
