How would you explain your style and approach to therapy when working with clients?
My approach centers on EMDR, yet I draw from a range of therapeutic techniques to ensure each session is tailored to your unique needs. I am committed to helping you navigate challenges like anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, relationship issues, and more. Together, we’ll address the biological, psychological, social, and spiritual aspects of your well-being. My hope is that you’ll feel deeply heard, supported, and empowered as we work toward a future of resilience, growth, and self-acceptance. Let’s begin this journey toward your optimal self. I also provide faith-based counselling services for clients seeking therapy from a Christian worldview.
What is a psychoeducational assessment?
A psychoeducational assessment can identify learning challenges in students of all ages, from young children to adults.
Learning disabilities, ADHD, ASD, anxiety, or depression often stay hidden and impact a student’s performance and behaviour both in and outside of the classroom. Gifted students may find themselves under stimulated and once identified, can receive enriched programming.
A psychoeducational assessment identifies areas of strength and weakness in a student’s learning profile and provides a deeper understanding of their educational abilities. It can also identify Gifted Abilities, Learning Disabilities, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Intellectual Disabilities, reading (dyslexia), writing (dysgraphia) and mathematic (dyscalculia) challenges and other mental health issues that can interfere with learning. We pride ourselves on providing comprehensive assessment services. Myself, and my team of experienced psychologists utilize state-of-the-art assessment tools, provide clear written reports, and ensure our clients have a positive experience during the whole process.
Our reports act as a road map for adult learners, parents and/or teachers, providing clear ideas on learning strategies, social/emotional supports, academic accommodations, and assistive technology needed to help the student thrive.
What training and expertise do you bring to your sessions? As a Registered Psychologist, I bring over a decade of experience supporting mental health in diverse settings, from government and non-profits to private practice. Since completing my Master’s in Counselling Psychology, I’ve specialized in evidence-based trauma therapies, including EMDR and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), along with training in suicide intervention, domestic violence, and Motivational Interviewing. Beyond my clinical work, I serve on the boards of two local non-profits and spend my free time adventuring outdoors—backpacking, paddling, and skiing in the stunning natural landscapes I call home.
Outside of your therapist role, what are some ways in which you express your uniqueness as a person?
“Let all that you do be done in love.” — Apostle Paul
As a therapist, I carry this message into my practice, working to build a space of genuine warmth and understanding. Nature, especially the outdoors, is my personal place of calm and connection, and I love helping clients find their own grounding in life’s journey. One of my most cherished memories is hiking to Everest base camp with my mother—a challenging, beautiful experience that built resilience and taught me the power of endurance. Let’s build that resilience together.
