How would you explain your style and approach to therapy when working with clients?
When life feels heavy—when anxiety, grief, trauma, or self-doubt make it hard to move forward—therapy can offer relief, clarity, and hope. My goal is to help you hold all parts of yourself with compassion, releasing what no longer serves you while nurturing the strengths and wisdom already within.
I take a collaborative, client-centered approach, grounded in evidence-based modalities and tailored to your unique story. Our work together may include exploring core beliefs, healing past wounds, and restoring self-trust. But more than anything, therapy with me is about helping you reconnect with your resilience and move forward with greater confidence and self-acceptance.
I’m passionate about supporting people through anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship struggles, and major life transitions. I also offer faith-based counselling for those who want to integrate their Christian worldview into the therapeutic process. Whether we draw on biological, emotional, social, or spiritual tools, your well-being is at the heart of our work.
My practice integrates EMDR for trauma recovery, as well as strategies from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Positive Psychology.
What is a psychoeducational assessment?
A psychoeducational assessment helps identify learning, attention, or emotional challenges—like ADHD, learning disabilities, anxiety, or autism—that may be affecting success at school, work, or in daily life. These challenges often go undiagnosed, leaving children, teens, and adults feeling misunderstood or unsupported.
Using a strengths-based lens, I assess cognitive, academic, and emotional functioning to uncover learning profiles and provide a clear path forward. These assessments can highlight areas of giftedness or challenges related to reading (dyslexia), writing (dysgraphia), math (dyscalculia), ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and more.
I offer assessments for individuals aged 6 and up under the supervision of experienced psychologists Michelle Kerslake and Dr. Harriet Johnston. Our team provides thorough, easy-to-understand reports that include personalized recommendations for school accommodations, assistive technology, emotional supports, and learning strategies—empowering students, families, and adult learners alike.
What training and expertise do you bring to your sessions?
My clinical foundation is rooted in EMDR therapy, a powerful, research-supported method for healing trauma and negative self-beliefs. I am also trained in CBT and MI and draw from complementary approaches including:
- Internal Family Systems (IFS)-informed therapy
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
- Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
- Positive Psychology
In addition, I’ve completed training in suicide intervention and domestic violence support. I am committed to lifelong learning and continue to pursue advanced clinical education to deepen my skills and better serve my clients.
Outside of your therapist role, what are some ways in which you express your uniqueness as a person?
“Let all that you do be done in love.” — Apostle Paul
This verse reflects the intention, compassion, and care I aim to bring into every relationship—both personal and professional. Outside of work, I feel most alive and grounded in nature. Whether I’m hiking, skiing, or paddling, the outdoors helps me reconnect with myself and the world around me.
One of my most meaningful journeys was hiking to Everest base camp with my mother—a powerful reminder of endurance, connection, and shared strength. These personal experiences shape how I show up in the therapy room: steady, present, and committed to walking alongside others through challenge and transformation.
