My Approach to Therapy: Feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected—whether as a parent, child, or individual—can be exhausting! Today’s world is filled with pressures that challenge emotional well-being and relationships.

As an attachment-based therapist, I believe we’re all wired for connection. My approach is grounded in empathy, curiosity, and humour. I aim to create a safe, authentic space where you feel seen, heard, and valued—just as you are.
I bring a special passion for working within family systems. As a parent to two neurodivergent teens and a professional with decades of experience supporting youth and families, I understand the emotional complexity of parenting and growing up today. I support children and parents collaboratively—helping each family member feel empowered in their role while strengthening their connections with one another.
Being married to a Calgary Police member for over 20 years has also deepened my understanding of the unique challenges faced by First Responder families—from isolation and relationship strain to mental health impacts. I offer informed, compassionate support to spouses and children of First Responders, recognizing the realities of that world.
I tailor each session to fit your needs, blending evidence-based approaches with creative and experiential strategies—often involving art, hands-on tools, or mindful practices that help bring insight and growth. Therapy with me is engaging, personal, and grounded in science.

Psychoeducational assessments uncover hidden learning challenges, mental health concerns, or gifted abilities that may be affecting academic success and self-esteem. We assess for a wide range of learning profiles including: • ADHD • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) • Learning disabilities (dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia) • Intellectual disabilities • Giftedness • Anxiety, depression, and other social-emotional factors

Training & Experience: My foundation includes a Master’s in Counselling Psychology and a Bachelor’s in Psychology focused on child development, but my learning hasn’t stopped there. I’ve completed extensive training in: • Neurodiversity & cultural diversity • Play therapy, mindfulness, and brain-based learning • Suicide intervention and trauma response • Executive functioning and anxiety/ADHD support • Grief and loss • Threat assessment • Emotion Freedom Technique (EFT)
I’m also a certified Drumbeat facilitator, using rhythm-based group work to build connection and resilience among youth. And as a trained Connect Parenting program facilitator and Emotionally Focused Family Therapy (EFFT) practitioner, I help families reconnect, repair, and thrive.
But beyond credentials, my 25+ years of frontline experience have shaped me most. From counselling women and children fleeing domestic violence, to supporting students with complex needs in school settings, I’ve dedicated my career to helping individuals feel safe, empowered, and connected.
Who I Am Outside the Office: Outside of work, I’m all about nature, rhythm, and relaxation. Whether I’m kayaking with my family, walking my dog, or curled up under a blanket with a book on my patio, I seek peace and presence in the everyday. One quote that guides me is by Maya Angelou: “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”
That’s my goal—in therapy and in life—to leave others feeling heard, understood, and valued.
