✳️ ADHD without a map can lead to shame, stress, and stuck patterns
Children with ADHD often get feedback like “calm down,” “focus,” or “stop overreacting.” But without understanding why their brain works differently, they’re left thinking something is wrong with them.
This lack of understanding can quietly grow into something bigger (especially when parents are searching for how to help a child with ADHD and aren’t sure where to start):
A child who constantly feels "in trouble" at school
A child who starts to believe they're not smart enough
A child who can’t explain why they feel overwhelmed and lashes out or shuts down
A child who feels different from their peers but can’t put their finger on why
Without the right support, these experiences can solidify into a painful identity—"I'm a bad kid," "I can't handle things," or "I'm too much."
🔥 That story becomes their truth unless we change it
And when children carry these painful stories, it doesn’t just affect school or friendships—it impacts how they see themselves for years to come.
Without intervention, they may:
- Develop anxiety, low self-esteem, or anger issues
- Pull away from social connection out of shame or confusion
- Miss out on discovering their strengths and learning strategies that actually work for their brain
This is not just about managing behaviours.
This is about helping your child understand, own, and celebrate how their brain works — especially when you're noticing common ADHD symptoms in children or wondering whether certain behaviours are typical ADHD signs in children.
🌱 The Solution: Equip your child with the knowledge, tools, and compassion they need to thrive
My Amazing ADHD Brain is a 16-week, in-office program created by Registered Psychologists at Eckert Centre to support school-aged children (ages 6–12) with ADHD or ADHD traits.
This isn’t behaviour bootcamp.
It’s self-discovery therapy.
Through weekly one-on-one sessions, your child will:
- Understand how their amazing brain works (attention, emotion, memory, movement, social cues) — including common ADHD symptoms in kids
- Build essential coping strategies for transitions, frustration, and executive functioning
- Strengthen social insight so they can navigate friendships and group settings with more confidence
- Develop self-compassion and shift from “What’s wrong with me?” to “This is how I work—and I have tools to help myself”
- Feel seen and celebrated for who they are—not just how they behave
Each module builds toward a better internal story—one where your child sees themselves as capable, lovable, and growing.

🧭 Objection? We hear you.
“16 weeks is a big commitment.”
Yes. Because real change takes time.
This program is designed to shift how your child sees themselves—not just to “fix” behaviours for a few weeks. Think of this as giving your child a head start on emotional well-being, not another after-school activity.
“It’s a big investment.”
It is. And it’s one that protects your child from years of shame, confusion, and mislabeling. Left unsupported, many kids with ADHD grow into teens who feel anxious, lost, or angry about being misunderstood. We help rewrite that story now—when it matters most.
