Stephanie Gomersall

Designation and Experience: Throughout my career I have provided support to children, adolescents, and adults in a variety of settings. I spent several years working in group homes, followed by time spent in a vocational support role. For the past five years I have worked alongside post-secondary students with a wide range of disabilities and health conditions, offering academic support, accommodation planning, and advocacy.  I am currently a Registered Provisional Psychologist and wear several hats at Eckert Centre, including counsellor, psychoeducational assessor, and Cognitive Coach.

What inspires you? I am very grateful to be surrounded by a network of wonderful friends and family who are endlessly supportive and enrich my life with regular doses of humor. I am deeply inspired by the compassion, strength, and resilience that I see on a daily basis in the individuals and families that I support. I am honored to share in their journey with them.

What are your proudest accomplishments?  My greatest accomplishment to date would have to be completing my Master of Education (Educational Psychology) degree in 2017. I attended graduate studies on a part-time basis while working as Manager of the Centre for Student Accessibility at the University of Regina. It was incredibly rewarding to apply the course content in my everyday work with students. In many ways, their hard work and dedication fueled my own passion for pursuing a career as a psychologist.

What are your Hobbies and Interests?

Having recently moved from Saskatchewan, I am greatly enjoying having the mountains within arm’s reach. I love time spent outdoors, and enjoy hiking, running, and cross-country skiing with my partner, Jay, and our two dogs.

Why do you think people should choose Eckert Centre?

The Eckert Centre team is warm, welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable. Each team member possesses a unique background of education and areas of expertise, which allows the Centre to provide comprehensive and individualized services to the families we support. The opportunity to access a learning assessment, academic coaching, and counselling services all under one roof is invaluable.
