|I hold a BA in Psychology, with a focus on education and counselling psychology. For the last five years I have enjoyed my work as an Education Assistant, working with elementary students challenged with emotional, social, behavioral, learning, and cognitive disorders. Currently, in addition to my work at Eckert Centre, I work in a school Transitions Program with junior high students challenged with mental health difficulties.
What inspires you?
I am most inspired by the children I encounter every day, and this includes my own daughter. I am inspired by children’s fearlessness: their willingness to face new challenges, their determination, and their perseverance to meet the goals they set for themselves, regardless of the obstacles they may encounter.
What are your proudest accomplishments?
I am proud of my work ethic which has led to many wonderful life experiences including studies and careers in music, the culinary arts and, most recently, my academic achievements. I am, however, most proud of the connections I have made over the last several years, with the children I have had the pleasure of working with.
What are your Hobbies and Interests?
Singing and leading children’s choirs will always be my passion. Above all, however, I enjoy spending time with my young daughter. We have always enjoyed skiing, skating, playing chess, and baking cookies; lately, I also find myself in the role of “director’s assistant” as she produces many short, creative, films – starring herself, of course!
Why do you think people should choose Eckert Centre?
I believe that people should choose Eckert Centre for the same reason that I am so grateful and excited to be a member of the team: everyone at Eckert Centre has a true passion for the work they do and a dedication and commitment to pursuing success for each and every client they work with.
